My internship at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph ended in May, but I stuck around and lived in the neighboring rectory for the summer while I was learning about hospital chaplaincy at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Now the time is drawing near when I'll have to leave San José and CBSJ to head back to Mundelein Seminary in Illinois.
I enjoyed my internship at CBSJ. There were so many opportunities to encounter Christ in the people here. Christ was present in the parishioners, the daily mass goers, the parish staff, the priests, and the students at the SJSU Newman Center. I met Christ in the volunteers including sacristans, catechists, musicians, and so many more. The community is active here and the Holy Spirit is moving.
I will miss serving here and I will miss the people who served with me. However, I am confident that I will remain connected to the CBSJ parish community especially through the Eucharist and through prayer.
Continued prayers as we continue on.
